Born in Lancashire, UK, in 1970 Mike has always been fascinated by the natural world. His natural curiosity teamed with his eye for detail manifests itself in his considered, unique paintings.After studying scientific illustration Mike has worked as a freelance illustrator for the last 10 years, with his work appearing in books, magazines, posters, brochures, leaflets and identification panels. They range from small scientific studies to large 4 meter murals.  His client list includes many wildlife and conservation organizations throughout the UK.

 Over the last 12 months Mike has concentrated on his wildlife art producing a series of  paintings and drawings of British birds. In these images light and shadow are as much of a feature as the wildlife itself.  Mike aims to capture those magical moments at dusk and dawn when wildlife can often be glimpsed.
