Howard
R. Hanson, a lifelong resident of Minnesota, has enjoyed a half-century
as a Graphic Designer, Illustrator and Painter. Although his earliest
memories of "plein air" painting took place with the Marine
Corps on Okinawa, many of his paintings are the result of visits to
Alaska, Argentina and Norway.
Howard's favorite subjects are the mountains and lakeshore of our country, but he remembers Norway's Lofoten Islands with special fondness. Working in various mediums, including alkyd/oil and acrylic, he exhibits in several galleries and is represented in private collections. Among his awards are four Top 200's and three Top 100's in the Arts for the Parks competition, including Grand Prize in 1995. |
