James Kiesow

A resident of Port Washington, Wisconsin, James Kiesow has been painting for about 25 years, completing about ten or more works each year.   Although largely self-taught, James has done workshops with such acclaimed wildlife artists as Robert Bateman, Guy Coleach, Bob Kuhn, Robert Abbett, and John Seery-Lester.   His passion for the outdoors, and hunting and fishing, gives him the inspiration to paint what he sees, and experiences.  Some of his accomplishments include:

. Finalist for the Wyoming Conservation Stamp in 2001, and 2003
· Juried into the 1990-91 "Arts For The Parks" competition, his work additionally selected for its national tour.
· Finished in the top ten for the Wisconsin state duck, and turkey stamp competitions many times.
· Finished third in "The Artists’ Magazine" 1994 art competition and was featured on its December cover.
· Juried into the prestigious Society of Animal Artists in 2000.
. Juried into the 2004 "Birds in Art" exhibit at the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, Wausau, Wisconsin
