I have known I was an artist since the age of ten (being an artist was not something I just chose but it was what I was born with) and have worked in a diversity of art fields for many years. Here's a few: I have been a graphic designer and illustrator; I have been a signwriter with some of my hand painted pub signs in Dublin, Ireland appearing on a Tom Cruise movie set; I have designed and charted needlepoint for Dimensions Inc.; I have worked in England, Ireland and the USA, and since moving to Florida in 1995 I have done faux finishing, murals and trompe l'oeil along with my abstract and representational paintings. I am working on now is my Florida Nature series. Florida is an amazing eco-system, full of unique and fantastic fauna and flora. I am saddened that the quantum speed of development around here is destroying the beauty forever. Many people who visit or even live here never actually see the real Florida.

I go to Florida State Parks and other preserved areas and take hundreds of reference photos of what I discover there and use them to paint from. Hopefully I am exposing the hidden beauty all around us and sharing some of the joy that it gives to me. 

You can often find me exploring the outdoors in State Parks, preserves and undeveloped areas of nature looking for my source materials. I record what I find with photographs and memory, and when back in the studio I morph with my computer to explore, contemplate, change, join, mix and interpret what I have found. When I have picked the cream of the crop I spend a long time visualizing the many possibilities of composition, size, focal point and many other details of how I want to paint a piece of art before I ever start squeezing the paint tubes. Finally the birthing of it can begin, and when it is done I share the gift. What started as an inner vision and inspiration behind my mind's eye has now become an external piece of art in front of yours.
