Doris Naffah, BA is an Artist, Graphic Designer and Illustrator born in Caracas, Venezuela to Lebanese parents. She started painting, developing her personal technique of batik and mixed media on paper, and showing her work in group exhibitions, right after she moved to the Caribbean island, Margarita. | About Peaceful Explosion and The Pacifist: Both of these pieces I painted after hearing about some Muslim women who were being used as terrorist bombs. The flying birds taking the place of the bombs in these two paintings are meant to symbolize that instead of having wars, killing, and suffering, we women should commit to spreading peace, contentment, and prosperity. |
