Neil Allen - September 2009
Neil won the overall prize of BBC Wildlife Artist
of the year
award with my detailed painting of
a Bee Orchid and was second in another section
called animals in their environment with a
Mediterranean work featuring some Bee Eaters.
The winning prize for me is a trip to the
Brazilian Pantanal which I am so looking forward
to, especially the rich bird life and the star mammal
the Jaguar. Robert Cook was one of my teachers on a course I attended
in the South of England many years ago and it was a great plearsure
eeting him again at the awards ceremony this past August.

Robert Cook - September 2009

I have attached a pic of me with my latest win. The award is for winner of the professional category & Overall winner and Wildscape Wildlife artist of the year 2009 for Wildscape magazine.  I am holding the trophy 'Wilf' the wolf, which I get to keep for the year.
Recently I was category winner for 'Animals in their Environment' as part of the BBC Wildlife Artist of the Year 2009 competition.  This was their first time the BBC have done such a competition, they have run a very well known Wildlife Photography competition, for many years.
