Manuel Sosa is a resident of Madrid, Spain

"My passion for nature starts in Cadiz (Andalucia) when I was thirteen years old. Amazed at the richness and abundance of wildlife of that zone, I spent many years walking in woods and marshes, where I started to watch and make sketches of Avocets, Spoonbills, Flamingos and other different birds which can be found in these lands forming immense flocks and colonies. Since then I dedicate my professional career to nature watching as well as to my work as an illustrator for different magazines and publishing houses. This made me travel to Madrid to finish my studies of Biology.

My works have been published for seventeen years in the most prestigious publishers and magazines in Spain. I have done many wildlife paintings shows ( pioneer of this genre in Spain ), collaborated in wildlife TV documentaries, worked in the National Park of Doñana, traveled twice to the Amazon Forest, USA, Pacific Islands, North Africa, Scotland, always looking for subjects and magic lights for my paintings. All of my last shows have finished with all the paintings sold. Now, I'm selling my artwork all over the world and my paintings are in private collections of USA, Canada, Spain, Germany and England."

He recently completed one assignment from the Environmental Department of Spain for making a gift to the owners of the twenty wild farms who have contributed to the protection of the Iberian Lynx, one of the most endangered felines in the world with only thirty or forty pairs, all of them in Spain (two pairs near of my home). All owners received a framed print from an oil whose original will be for the King of Spain. Mr. Sosa traveled to some of the best wild places in Spain to visit the Lynx habitats for the commission. "The Environmental Department acquired 'hard to get' licences for me to visit some sacred wild places. The ceremony was held the first week in July 2003.
